Proemio - Authentic Wines

Proemio Wines is a small Argentine winery with three vineyards located in the most recognized wine regions in Mendoza: Maipú, Luján de Cuyo and Uco Valley at altitudes ranging between 2,300 and 4,000 ft asl. Proemio holds organic certification for all of the wines it produces.

The winery focuses on different grape varieties from each of these regions. Malbec holds the biggest representation at 24 hectares, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon (15 hectares), Petit Verdot (4.5 hectares), Syrah (2.5 hectares), Grenache (2.5 hectares), Cabernet Franc (1 hectare). The white grape varietals are represented by Sauvignon Blanc (8 hectares) and Chardonnay (1 hectare).

The winery was founded in 2001 by Marcelo Bocardo, a third generation winemaker and the descendant of a traditional Italian immigrant family. Marcelo wanted to produce high quality wines that truly represent his ancestors’ passion for viticulture and a legacy for the generations to come. Described as a new wave winemaker of Argentinian wines, he avoids over extraction and heavy use of oak, focusing rather on the expression of the terroir.

Known for their high quality, these wines are consistently recognized with high scores from trusted sources such as James Suckling, Decanter and Wine Enthusiast, to name a few. Proemio Wines are highly sought after and are considered to be some of the best examples of Argentine wines - known for their complexity, finesse, and aging potential. They continue to represent excellent value for the money for Argentine wine.
